1. What we collect

Uploaded photos and stored copies of the original photo are scheduled for deletion from this service 7 days after upload. The photo is sent to our image provider only to create the illustrations, under that provider's own terms. This does not promise deletion of provider-held copies or infrastructure backups.

2. Who we share information with

We use a small number of service providers to actually create and deliver your order:

Anthropic (Claude) — generates the story script and performs an automated content safety check
Image and video generation providers — create the illustrations or video used in your story
ElevenLabs — generates narration for stories
Creem — processes payment and acts as the Merchant of Record for tax/VAT purposes
Zoho Mail — sends you order-related emails

We don't sell your information to anyone, for any reason.

3. Children's privacy

This service is intended to be used by parents and guardians to create content about a child — it is not intended for children to use directly or provide their own information to. If you believe a child has submitted information to us directly without a parent/guardian's involvement, please contact us so we can remove it.

4. How long we keep information

Photos and stored original-photo copies: scheduled for deletion 7 days after upload. Cleanup runs daily while the service is active and catches up on restart. Removal may be delayed while the service is asleep or if a deletion fails. Files still needed by another order are kept until no longer needed there.
For new paid, approved customer orders, finished illustrations, videos, PDFs, ebook files, story text and generated character references are available for 30 days after the order is ready for you, then deleted from this service. We attempt one reminder around day 21. Save your downloads before the window ends.
After story deletion, we keep only the order ID, dates, tier/duration, price/currency where recorded, payment/refund status, payment reference, customer email, deletion status and a hashed access token needed to make repeat deletion requests safe. We remove the child's details, story text and media links.
Unpaid previews, moderation holds, and tester or sandbox orders are not automatically deleted under the 30-day rule. Reminders are not sent for tester or sandbox orders. Cleanup can be delayed while the service is asleep or if a task fails. Reminders may be delayed or missed if the service is asleep or email delivery fails.

5. Your rights

Automatic retention rules apply to orders placed after this policy takes effect. Existing orders are not automatically deleted under the new policy; contact us to request deletion.

For new orders, use the private “Delete my story and photos now” link on your order page or in your emails to remove the story, uploads and media from this service at any time. You must confirm deletion first. Deletion does not automatically issue a refund, and a minimal accounting record remains. Files still needed by another order are retained for that order; provider-held copies and infrastructure backups are managed separately. For older orders, corrections or other requests, email info@generateastory.ai.

6. Cookies

This site currently uses minimal to no tracking cookies. If that changes, this section will be updated to reflect it.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the date at the top when we do.
